What is Freemasonry?

Freemasonry is one of the world's oldest secular fraternal societies. It is a society of men concerned with spiritual and moral values. Its members are taught its principles by a series of ritual dramas, which follow ancient forms and use stonemasons' customs and tools as allegorical guides.

Brief History of Freemasonry in Thailand

The story of Freemasonry in Thailand is a fascinating journey spanning over 130 years, weaving together diverse cultures and traditions in the pursuit of brotherhood and moral excellence.

Freemasonry in Thailand boasts a rich and intriguing history, dating back to the late 19th century when King Rama V opened Siam to foreign influences. The initial attempts to establish a lodge were fraught with challenges, from a lack of qualified members to unforeseen tragedies. Yet, the dream of a Masonic presence persisted, fueled by the determination of Brethren from various constitutions.

Finally, in 1911, Lodge St. John No. 1072 was consecrated, marking a pivotal moment after decades of struggle. The lodge faced further trials, including the turmoil of World War II, but it emerged resilient, adapting to changing times and evolving with the influx of American and British Freemasons. Today, Freemasonry in Thailand stands as a testament to the enduring spirit of its members and their commitment to the Craft.
